Kabkab dates are dark brown when ripe.It has an oval shape with a thick skin that adheres to the flesh of the date.The humidity level of Kabkab dates is around 18 %, which catagorized it in the group of semi-dry or fresh dates.The average weight of each date is about 11 grams and its length is between 3.5 and 4 cm.

Juicy flesh and humidity of this date make its storage time shorter than other kind of  dates and it cannot be stored for a long time without refrigeration.Kabkab dates can be stored in a dry and cool environment away from direct sunlight for up to 6 months.
